Growing in Unity Week: Day 1!

Hi! Welcome to Day One of my Growing in Unity Week! I'm super excited to be one of the Growing in Unity people for 2014. I'll be sharing projects everyday using stamps from Unity Stamp Co. and if you comment on my post for the day you'll be entered to win 2 itty bitty stamps from Unity(there's 540 itty bitty stamps showing in the category right now so you'll have TONS of choices)!

For Day One, I decided to play with the stamp set "Bee Happy Hexagons". I got it not too long ago and this is the first time I have gotten to play with it. I attempted to do a clean and simple card, and while I like the finished product, it definitely looks clean, but wasn't very simple to do. Here it is:

I stamped all the colored hexagons using my Tim Holtz Distress Markers(I used Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Mowed Grass) and then cut them all out. I stamped all the black outlines using that stamp from the set and cut them all out. Then adhered the colored ones to the outlines, stamped "hello" on the solid pink and laid them out before I glued them down. Other than the "hello" one all are adhered flat to the background paper. The "hello" one I popped up with a pop dot. Also added a touch of glitter with Tim Holtz Distress Stickles in Rock Candy to the center of the flowers. Love how this turned out, it looks very water colored in real life.

So that's it for Day One, don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win! See you back here tomorrow!
