CropChocolate.com DT OWH/Any Hero Blog Hop!

Hi all! Wow it's been awhile, welcome to the CropChocolate.com's OWH Blog Hop & my blog! If you came here from Julie's blog for the Operation Write Home/ Any Hero blog hop that we're doing, you're in the right place and if you stumbled upon me today, feel free to start out the hop from Amber's blog and join in on our fun! If you don't know what Operation Write Home is, they are an organization that sends handmade cards to military bases all over the world, they have 3 shipping centers in the United States(one on the East Coast, one on the West Coast and one in the Mid-West). These busy ladies box cards and make sure they get shipped overseas. If you want to help, check out their website, there's a TON of info on what you need to know there.

So in the spirit of Operation Write Home and celebrating World Card Making Day(Oct. 6th, 2012), we're challenging you to complete our challenges(each of us have one), and send your cards into Operation Write Home.

My challenge is this: Use those scraps. I have tons of scraps, and actually a LOT of 6 x 6 scraps, so I want you to grab all the scraps you have for 1 collection(and you can use whatever embellishments you want), and make as many cards as you can out of them for Operation Write Home. I grabbed my scraps for Echo Park's Merry Christmas line, and started creating. I ended up getting 6 cards out of my scraps. I may still be able to get a few more out of it, but we'll see.

Here's what I started with:
Okay, so yeah, I started with a few 6 x 6 sheets and some element & alpha stickers.

And here's what I came up with:

Some are pretty basic, but I didn't want to get too complicated with these ones. I may do a little tweaking as I pack up cards to mail out to the shipper in the Mid-West. We'll see. Now I want to see what you've got. You've got until October 8 to get your project done, and added to Mr. Linky at the bottom. :-)

Next up on the hop is the a-maz-ing Nina. :-) Go check her out and leave her some love!

I'm off to finish up a garage sale this weekend, so I'll be back Monday! :-) You guys are all great,
happy scrapping!

So I'm back...

Hello all you wonderful followers of mine! I hope your week has been fantastic!
After I participated in the Pink by Design 2 Year Anniversary I had to give my poor brain a break,
I was on crafty overload and losing my mojo. I did a quick card for a challenge at CropChocolate.com because I love them and I design for them, but other than that I haven't touched my paper crafting goodies all week(well, does looking through the new Close to My Heart catalog count? It's amazing, and I love it all. If you want to check out the new pretties, click the link in my sidebar, all the new products are available as of Wednesday, August 1- that includes the new Artiste Cricut Collection).

So instead of crafting this week, Monkey and I have just been hanging out. The county fair is in town where we live so we went to that on Tuesday. We had a blast, helicopter rides, pony rides, some games, cotton candy, and we went to the demolition derby. Monkey thought the demolition derby was the COOLEST thing ever(he's not called Captain Destructo for no reason, lol). He's informed me that he wants to do that someday(thankfully I have at least 7 years before even thinking about letting him participate, the youngest driver was 12 that night) and that he's racing in the motocross race next year. He's been riding dirt bikes for almost 3 years already(he's only 5 1/2) and he's getting pretty good so I think I'll let him do it if he really wants to next year.

Here's some pics from our fun at the fair:
*This is the helicopter we rode on*

*Monkey on the pony ride*

*Monkey being a pumpkin at the agricultural club garden*

*The CUTEST foal I've ever seen, he's a miniature horse, only 2 months old, and so incredibly fuzzy still!*

*This is a car that got flipped over and out of bounds during the demolition derby. Monkey thought it was awesome!*

Okay, I won't share more pics from the fair(I totally could, I took over 50 of them, lol). I will leave you with the only paper project I did all week long. The challenge at CropChocolate.com last week was to do anything we wanted. :-) This is what I came up with:

CC Products Used:
Echo Park 6 x 6 So Happy Together Paper Pad
Making Memories Celery Ribbon
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Dried Marigold

Non-CC Products Used:
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Stamps- Flights of Fancy(clear stamps)
Close to My Heart Exclusive Dye Ink in Cocoa

Have a great weekend all! I'll be crafting a little, but we're making cookies and having a "sleepover" this weekend in the living room. We'll be eating popcorn, watching movies, playing wii, and just getting in some great Mommy & Monkey time before school starts in a few weeks. :-)

Happy Scrapping!

PBD UStream Challenge

So for the UStream challenge we had to use something from our junk drawer. I don't have a junk drawer, I have a junk basket. I found a cute green sparkly "5" candle, so I used that. Here it is:

I'm going to use it as a treat bag topper for a cute little girl I know. :-)

PBD Challenge #12: Last One

So this is the last challenge for Pink By Design's Anniversary Party. Okay, so there's one during the Live UStream tonight, but I don't know anything about that yet, so, on to the project.

We had to make a project using something in our home as inspiration. I chose a bottle of body spray from Bath & Body Works, I just got it, I haven't even put it in my bathroom yet, lol, but the bottle label is really pretty, all bright colors & leopard print. So here's my project:

It's so hard to get a good picture of this card, but I did the card with 5 shades of Glimmer Mist(1 for the leopard print, 4 for the gradient colors), it looks so cool in real life. I'll have to try and take another picture tomorrow when the sun is out. :-)

Thanks Pink By Design Team, I had a blast today.

PBD Challenge #11

So Challenge #11 is something that I NEVER do. A single layer card. I never do single layers, it's always multiple layers of paper, pop dots, etc... All we were allowed was 1 sheet of paper, whatever stamps we were going to use and inks. So here it is.

Sorry for the huge picture, but it's pretty much the only way for you to see all my snow dots. I feel like it should have a warning label. "Warning: This card contains massive amounts of Stickles. Don't look at it in direct sunlight.". Sound like a good one? lol. I had fun and learned I can NOT stamp straight to save my life. Everything is always a little crooked, but eh, proves it was hand made by me. :-)

PBD Challenge #10

I'm back! Yep, I've eaten and done challenge 10 in an hour. :-) I'm on a roll today. :-) So challenge 10 is to use an animal or animal print on your project. Here's what I did:

I loved the glittery birds so I had to use them. :-) Not sure if I like it with the blue background but it really makes all the other colors stand out since it's so dark. :-)

PBD Challenge #9

So challenge #9 is to use buttons. Oh, I've got a lot of those, I love using them, but I don't use them on anything I'm going to mail, I know a very cute little girl with a birthday coming up though and we're going to her party so this is for her. :-)

Alright, I'm off for a bit, my stomach is ready to eat itself since I haven't fed it all day so I'm going to do that and I'll be back after a bit. :-)

PBD Challenge #8

Hi there, yep, I'm back again. :-) So challenge #8 was to use ribbon in some way on a project. I decided to make a super simple baby card. I really like it. Here it is:

PBD Challenge #7

So challenge #7 over at PBD is to make something with a tag on it. Here's my pretty card. I was having a blast with ink. :-)

PBD Challenge #6

So Challenge #6 is a sketch challenge. We had to make a card or LO with this sketch:

Here's what I did with it using the Pink by Design Beary Merry Christmas set:

I love how this card turned out. This may end up being my Christmas card this year. :-)

PBD Challenge #4 & #5

So Challenge #4 was to use a silhouette, this is what I came up with:

And Challenge #5 was to use ombre. Now that I'm well acquainted with, we used this for the July  CropChocolate DT theme. So here's my project. The cupcakes in the background are is the cupcake PBD background stamp.

PBD Challenge #3

Alright, challenge #3 was to use embossing(wet or dry) on a project. :-) I used both. Dry embossing for the swirls and the butterflies are wet embossed.

Pink by Design 2 Year Anniversary Challenge #2

Hi there, so this is my project for Challenge #2 over at Pink by Design. It's their 2 year anniversary today and they're having challenges all day. Challenge #2 was to make a project for your favorite holiday, and Christmas is mine. I think my birthday being Christmas Eve has something to do with it. :-)

CropChocolate.com Design Team Blog Hop

Hi there! Welcome to the CropChocolate.com Design Team Banner Blog Hop! If you got here from Miwa's blog, you're in the right place. If you just stumbled across my blog today, start back at Amber's blog and follow along with us. There is blog candy along the way, and a prize from CropChocolate.com too!

So this is my project:

I'm not going to give all of the details here, it was a ton of steps, so I'll do a detailed post after the blog hop is all done, but this is for my son's room. Here's the close ups:

CC Products Used:
a TON of MM Just Chillin' Boys Paper
Ranger Stickles "Goldenrod"

Non CC Products:
Kraft Cardstock(The Paper Company)
Random Ribbon from my stash.

I was really nervous that this project was going to look too girly for his room(he's 5 1/2 years old now), but the Just Chillin' papers worked great! He'll love it for sure when he gets home from his camping trip!

So next up on the hop is Jenni so make sure you go check her project out, but before you go,
I have some mystery blog candy to give away.

To get a chance at the blog candy you need to:
1)Leave me a comment
and
2)Become a follower.

I will be checking so you better make sure you've done both!

Thanks for stopping by my blog on our Banner Blog Hop!

I love it and am going to have to get it as soon as it's released in August! Tons more 3-D projects, cards, phrases, some more 3-D flowers, cupcake wrappers and more. Okay, last one. I have no more time because we're leaving for camping in 2 1/2 hours and I haven't packed yet! Eek! I should really get on that but since I can't craft for the next 4 days I wanted to get some more crafty time in, darn it!

Here's my last project:

This cute card works for the challenges on scrapaddict-laura & by belle's blogs.

Scrapaddict-laura wanted us to make a card using a journal box, and by belle wanted us to use a handmade embellishment not made from paper.

For Those Left Behind Blog Hop 02

So here's my next project:

This one works for the challenges on bethd488, ninan, & Christina's blogs.
Bethd488 challenged us to use the flag as inspiration, ninan challenged us to use a pinwheel on our project & Christina wanted us to make an Independence Day or Canada Day card.

Bo Bunny Liberty "Liberty Cut Outs"
The button came from CC too, but I don't remember with what.

Non CC products used:
Twine-Blueberry: The Twinery
White Sakura Gel Pen

For Those Left Behind Blog Hop 01

So CropChocolate.com had a weekend gathering called Spring Fling last weekend for their customers, and lots of us weren't able to go, so some of the lovely ladies decided to have a blog hop with challenges. We could combine 3 challenges into 1 project if we wanted to, so here's my first project...

This is for the challenges on clayton528, Scrappy Canuck & Karey2005's blogs. Clayton528 challenged us to make something that reminds us of spring, Scrappy Canuck gave us 1/2 hour to make a card & Karey2005 directed us to use something from nature. :-) This is a pretty simple card for me, I just embossed the main cardstock, and then embossed 2 more colors with the same folder & fussy cut them, and then added some stickles.

CC products: LYB Fresh Print Clothesline
Stickles: Goldenrod
Stamp: BG Delta L.E. Series

Other products: Kraft Cardstock for base(The Paper Company)
Momento Ink in Rich Cocoa

Cricut Circle Blog Monthly Challenge

The challenge on the Cricut Circle Blog this month is to make a scrapbook layout about a milestone. Any type of milestone. I chose to do a layout about my son turning 5. I can't believe he's old enough for Kindergarten now. He starts in September. He was so excited to turn 5 it was unreal. I didn't put his picture on there yet, mainly because I'm trying to not post so many pictures of him on line anymore. But you can see where his picture will go easily enough. So here's my layout:

Products Used:
Echo Park Little Boy Collection Pack
Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Vintage Photo
Baker's Twine(The Twinery): Mandarin
Cricut Expression
Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cartridge
Sesame Street Font Cricut cartridge
Glimmer Mist(Tattered Angels): Creme de Cocoa
Ranger Stickles: Stardust
ATG
Foam Squares by 3M

I'll be back tomorrow with some better pictures when I can take some in the daylight, until then,

Happy Scrapping!

A Couple of Cards

I've been meaning to get these up here forever, but here's a couple of cards I made. Almost everything is CTMH products and most of it is from the Stella Workshop to go kit. :-)

I stamped this one once in Cocoa onto Colonial White cardstock, and then again in Lagoon on Lagoon cardstock and cut out the cushions. I love how it turned out!

This one I did with the Art Philosophy cartridge & stamps that come with it. I cut the images with my Cricut, adhered them together & then stamped the cupcake image on it. The Olive cupcakes are actually one cupcake that I cut in half to use on each side. The Lagoon cupcake is popped up with foam dimensionals. I made the candle by cutting a strip of Olive cardstock, stamping down it with one of the pattern stamps from the "Just for You" set and then adding a star(cut from Art Philosophy & stamped with one of the stamps that come with it) and added a little bling. "Happy Birthday" came with Art Philosophy too.

Alright, off to play some more,
Happy Scrapping,

EP NSD Challenge #4

So this layout is for the Echo Park NSD Challenge #4. We had to do a layout based on a sketch. I haven't scrapped an actual LO in a while so it took me way longer than it should have! Here's the sketch:

And here's my LO, I actually really liked the sketch so I kept all the elements other than swapping out the square picture for two 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 ones that I matted on coordinating cardstock. I did add bling, just because I liked it. :-)

I originally didn't have the lighter letters in the title outlined, but they kind of disappeared into the journaling without it. It pulls out to show the rest of the journaling.

And a close up of the blinged circles. :-) Gotta add a little sparkle, even on a boy's page.

Now here's the funny thing. I did this entire layout with winter themed paper. That's right, winter. I used the Echo Park Wintertime collection kit. Love those papers, and the colors were great, so I went for it.

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Scrapping!
