Unity Be Inspired Challenge Take Three!

Image
Gotta say, I love that Unity has so many options for their Be Inspired Challenge. 2 Sketch Challenges and a Color Inspiration Challenge every month. Love it. This month definitely inspired me. So I'm back with my take on the Card Sketch Challenge, since I've already shown you the Layout Sketch And Color Inspiration Challenges. This is the sketch: And here's what I did with it: The stamp set is "Feel the Joy" which is from the Unity Stamp Co. Itty Bitty Collection. I colored it direct to stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Markers(Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, and Festive Berries for the flowers and Walnut Stain for the sentiment). Papers are from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose- Mabel 6 x 6 paper pad. I'm not entirely sure who made the baker's twine, I've had it for a couple of years. :-)  So thanks for visiting the last few days. It's been fun, now to finish up baby blankets and make a hat for my niece! :-)  Brit

Unity Be Inspired Take Two...

Image
Hi there, so I'm back with another entry for the Unity Be Inspired Challenge for this month. This time I took on the color challenge. I had so much fun playing with the colors and while they reminded me of Halloween, I so didn't do anything Halloween related! I played with the Unity Itty Bitty "Matching Socks" this time, and it was the first time I'd really gotten to play with it, and I'm so glad I did! Those socks are fun to color! So here was the Color Challenge: And here's what I did with it! I added some purple and only used black for an ink pad color, but it was a blast to color!  Inks Used: Momento: Tuxedo Black Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad: Dusty Concord, Vintage Photo Spectrum Noir Markers: LG3&5, LV1-3, OR1-3, EB2, TN1 Thanks for stopping by today! Check back tomorrow, I'm hoping to get the card sketch done too yet! :-) Brit

Unity Be Inspired Challenge 01!

Image
Hi all! I'm back! Summer was crazy, didn't get to scrap nearly as much as I wanted to. Did get a lot of other projects done though! So I saw the sketches for Unity's Be Inspired Challenge this month and loved them, decided I needed to actually create them and get back in the swing of scrappy things! This is my first one up, the Layout Sketch. I don't usually follow sketches for layouts, but I really like this one!  So here's the sketch: And here's my take on it:  The papers are from Trinity Paper Arts "Making the Team" collection, all stamps are from Unity Stamp Co.(book w/ apple and "remember this" came in a grab bag, the others are from Splatters and Stars- All Boy which is an itty bitty set). 1st grade is spelled out in Thickers from American Crafts, stamp pads used- TH Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge and Faded Jeans, Momento in Tuxedo Black. Books w/ Apple Stamp is colored with Spectrum Noir Markers(DR3, DR5, BT9, GB7,

I'm back! And FWF Friday!

Oh wow, I can't believe it was the end of March the last time I posted. I'm sad now! Maybe I just need to start posting my crochet projects on here too since I've been working on that a LOT lately(I have 4 baby blankets to get done by the end of August). So today is Friday, and that means it's Friends with Flair at the Unity Stamp Co. blog today. So after you check out my project, go over and check out the other entries for Friends with Flair this week! And don't forget to check out the Unity store this weekend. They're having their "Mid-Year Sale" this weekend, all of the stamps that have been released so far in 2014 are on sale 50% off. :-) Here's my project for this week: I got the 2 stamps in a grab bag, so I'm not sure which Unity sets they're from, but I was having way too much fun playing with Dylusions Spray Inks on this card(I used Funky Fuchsia, After Midnight, Bubblegum Pink, Crushed Grape & Calypso Teal). Also used Mom

Growing In Unity Blog Hop with Unity Stamp Company!!

Image
Hi all! Welcome to this stop of the Growing in Unity Blog Hop! I was a Growing in Unity gal back in January and I had so much fun that I HAD to agree to the blog hop! You should've come here from Corrie's blog, and if you're just jumping in feel free to start at the Unity Stamp Co. Blog(the entire blog line up is listed down below)!  We got to play with this week's Stamp of the Week called Berry Sweet Moments and let me say, it's super cute! I haven't gotten to play with paper lately but this stamp sure made me want to right away! Here's what I did with it: Pretty simple, but I loved the berries so much, that I didn't want to do too much to them. I used the DCWV Summer Magic 6 x 6 Paper Stack and paper pieced the berries. After I had the card assembled I used Rock Candy Distress Stickles just to make them a tad sparkley and shiny. All papers other than the white are from the same stack.  Now check out the rest of the hop, Jessica is up n

Another one for HIMCR...

Okay, I was having a creative streak tonight and made a second card for Hiding in My Craft Room's Challenge. If you missed the last post, it's for Challenge #137: Designer x3. Basically, use 3 pattern papers. Last time I used MME, this time, I've got DCWV. I just got the Burlap Paper 6 x 6 stack last week and I've been dying to use it, so I dug out my Animal Crackers Mat Stack, and some Unity Stamp Co stamps(I used "Hello Little One") and got to work. Here's what I came up with:  A little more subtle on the patterns with this one. The red, brown & green are all patterned but they tend to "read" as a solid. Especially in a card like this. And I love the animal prints in the polka dots. The hearts were glittered with Xmas Red Stickles from Ranger, and the ink is CTMH Cocoa.  Alright, it's almost 2 am here, I'm off to bed. Maybe I'll see you yet again this weekend. I'm feeling rather paper crafty at the moment. :-)

Friends with Flair

Image
Hi all! Haven't been around in a couple of weeks, it's been a little crazy, knitting & crocheting projects are taking over my life and add in a sick kiddo and I get no paper crafting time. I'm almost done with the couple of projects I'm working on so it should be better in the next week. :-) So today is Friends with Flair at Unity Stamp Co, and I made this card that I wanted to share. I made this with the fabulous girl itty bitty from Unity and the Sweetest Thing Bluebell 6 x 6 paper pad and matching washi tape from My Mind's Eye. Also used Silver Liquid Pearls & Tuxedo Black ink by Momento. Love how the paper pieced dresses turned out.  I'm also linking this up to Hiding in My Craft Room's Challenge #137 Designer Paper x3 . Love patterned paper and the challenge was to use 3 patterned papers. :-)  Thanks for stopping by today! Brittany

Growing in Unity Week- Day Five

Image
Well hi there! Thanks for stopping by for my last day of my Growing in Unity week with Unity Stamp Co. ! I've had a lot of fun this week sharing projects with all of you! Today I'm sharing a birthday card I made with Maggie Girl(who's currently on sale for $7 here ). I love the ANGIE Girls, I have a few but I need more of them!  So here's my last project for GiU:  She's colored with Spectrum Noir Markers(I don't remember the colors though right now, it was REALLY late when I was coloring...), & the papers are from Echo Park Paper Co's Springtime line. Yeah, I'm not even pretending to be subtle about missing spring anymore. Started out with just bright colors and now I'm on to just using the spring paper lines, lol. :-) I also used a Sakura Clear Stardust pen for some light sparkle. Maggie & sentiment are stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink.  I'll also be linking this up for Friends with Flair on the Unity blog today! :-)

Growing in Unity Week- Day Four

Image
Aww, my Growing in Unity week is almost over. That makes me sad. :-( So if you haven't been here all week I'm Growing in Unity with Unity Stamp Co. this week. I've gotten to post fun projects all week, and looking at them all, I can tell that I'm missing spring. I've been breaking out the fun bright colors all week. Not my fault, I'm in Minnesota and well it was -45 degrees here for 2 days this week and they called off school those 2 days too. My kiddo has been in school for all of 11 days this January! It's crazy! So continuing on with my bright and fun for the week, today I played with the " Hoot of a Day " itty bitty. The owl was just cute and I wanted to color him up. :-) Here he is: Okay, so I used him 3 times, lol. But they're cute and colorful. :-) The papers are from the Bella Blvd Birthday Girl Collection Kit, I colored the owls with my Spectrum Noir markers(colors listed below), added some Stardust Stickles and sequins and s

Growing in Unity Week- Day Three

Image
Hi there! We're on Day Three of my Growing in Unity week for Unity Stamp Co. and I can't believe it's half over already! So for today's project, I played with the itty bitty Fashionista "Marlow". I love that she's an itty bitty and am hoping for more itty bitty Fashionistas. :-) This is the one project I wish you could all see in person, the picture just doesn't do it justice. So here's Marlow... I used the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Portobello Road 6 x 6 paper pad. Loved the warmer greys that worked with her dress. However, there was no sparkle on the paper so I grabbed the Star Dust Stickles and everywhere that there was a little diamond, got sparkled. :-) It's so much more sparkly in real life. I honestly love it. I colored Marlow with my Spectrum Noir markers(EB5, 7 & 8 for her hair, BG2 & 4 for her dress- which I then added Star Dust Stickles to, DR5 & 7 for her lips & rose, CT1 for her drink & FS2 &am

Growing in Unity Week: Day Two

Image
Hi again all! I'm back with my second project for my Growing in Unity week. This time around I made a baby card with the set " Hello Little One ". I love this set, it's super cute and I love the animals! Of course, I couldn't pick just one so I used all three. :-)  Here's my card: See, they're super cute! I used my Distress Markers again. They're pretty much solid rubber and I didn't want them black or solid brown so I grabbed the markers again. :-) I used Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Gathered Twigs, Brushed Corduroy, Mustard Seed & Spiced Marmalade. After doing the animals in color, I carried it on to the sentiment. I decided it made it more cohesive. The papers are from My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing-Tangerine. Also used baker's twine from The Twinery in Shore Stripe, Cantaloupe Stripe & Buttercream Stripe.  I love how this card turned out! Don't forget to leave a comment to have a chance to win 2 itty bitty stamps

Growing in Unity Week: Day 1!

Image
Hi! Welcome to Day One of my Growing in Unity Week! I'm super excited to be one of the Growing in Unity people for 2014. I'll be sharing projects everyday using stamps from Unity Stamp Co.  and if you comment on my post for the day you'll be entered to win 2 itty bitty stamps from Unity(there's 540 itty bitty stamps showing in the category right now so you'll have TONS of choices)!  For Day One, I decided to play with the stamp set "Bee Happy Hexagons". I got it not too long ago and this is the first time I have gotten to play with it. I attempted to do a clean and simple card, and while I like the finished product, it definitely looks clean, but wasn't very simple to do. Here it is:  I stamped all the colored hexagons using my Tim Holtz Distress Markers(I used Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, and Mowed Grass) and then cut them all out. I stamped all the black outlines using that stamp from the set and cut them all out. Then

Friends With Flair Friday!

Image
Oh my it's Friday! The kiddo had 2 days of school this week, the Governor and then our school district called off Monday and Tuesday and then he was home sick today. Though the 2 days he was in school were a nice break, he'd been home for 18 days by Tuesday, it was time for Christmas break to be over for sure, lol! It's been way too cold here and we've all been a little stir crazy.  So today is Friends with Flair Friday on the Unity Stamp Co. blog, and so I got the pretty new markers out and grabbed a stamp and started playing. I like how it turned out, but man oh man, there is a learning curve with these stamps. I need lots more practice for sure! Good thing I like coloring. :-) Here's my entry for Friends with Flair this week... Used: Let Love Fly by Phyllis Harris for Unity Stamp Co. Unity {be inspired} Challenge

Image
Hi there! So every month Unity Stamp Co . has a challenge on their challenge blog . This is one of my entries for this month. I played along with the Color Challenge for one. Here's what the challenge was: And here's what I did with it:  I didn't want them just standing on white space, so I added green. LOVE how this card turned out. Picture doesn't do it justice, the centers of some of the flowers have a touch of shimmer from a clear Stardust jelly roll pen(love that thing) and their shoes are shiny. :-)  Off to have dinner with some of the family so I'll be back later with my other entry. Happy Craftin'! Brit

I'm back!

Image
I've been gone forever it seems like! Still working on some Christmas presents, one side of my family doesn't celebrate until mid to late January every year so I've got a little time yet. I'll get there! :-) So today is Friday, which means Friends with Flair at the Unity Stamp Co. blog . Now, I got a box of Unity Stamps for my birthday a couple of weeks ago so this is the first time I've gotten to ink them up. Today I REALLY wanted to ink up the "I Miss Your Face" dressforms. They're so cute and fun. I picked the largest of the 3, and just played with that one for today. :-) So here's what I did with it:   And a close up of the dressform & sparkly swirls. That's it for today. I'll be back soon, I got a Cameo and the Spectrum Noirs for Christmas so give me a chance to play and I'll be showing you everything! :-) Thanks for stopping by! Brit
