Flaunt It Friday Challenge: Paper Pups

Image
I decided to enter the Flaunt It Friday Challenge this week, of course they were using Paper Pups, so I substituted Create a Critter. I did look at the cut that we were supposed to use(dog & cat border on page 104), and once I flipped the puppy, well, it's close enough for me. The card is 5.5" square, and I rounded the bottom corners with my Fiskars punch. Darker pink layer is cut at 5.25" square. The light pink is cut at 2.5" x 5.25" and the blue is cut at 2" x 5.25". Then I punched one edge of each one with my Fiskars Treading Water border punch and layered them. The puppy & kitty were done on my Gypsy because I welded their shadow's together(I wanted them to layer perfectly, lol). The puppy is cut at 3.5" and the kitty is cut at 2.75". The bow on the kitty is supposed to be on it's neck, but I trimmed that part of the shadow off and decided to put the bow on it's head. So now it's a girl, lol, I also used a bright p...

PKS Let's Face It Friday Challenge: X's & O's

Image
Okay so this is my entry for this challenge, X's & O's were required to be somewhere in your project, they didn't have to be the focal point, but I've been dying to use this cut from Smiley Cards so I figured "hey why not?". I did it as a shape card using the shadow, and then cut 2 of the main part and just trimmed the pink to go over the red "O". I didn't want them the same colors. It's cut at 3.5". I also embossed the pink using the heart embossing folder from the Love Language Cut & Emboss set. The love stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Life set & the face stamps are from the Everyday Character Assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps, obviously, lol, since it's for their challenge. All card stock is from The Paper Company. Happy Crafting!

Peachy Keen Stamps Sketch #44 Challenge

Image
So the project below was for Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog's Sketch Challenge #44(w/ a twist). The sketch was great and this design had be floating in my head for a few days, so I went for it. The twist was other than black & white, our project had to be monochromatic. So, going with red, also let me have all tints of pink. Yay me! Recipe below as always. Recipe: Red Base layer cut at 5.5" x 8.5" folded in half for an A2 sized card Black & White Stripe, from DCVW's All Dressed Up Mat Stack, cut at 4" x 5.25" Red strip is cut at 2" x 4" Medium Pink strip is cut at 1.5" x 4" Now, the light pink that's vertical is cut at 5.25" tall and it's approx. 2" wide, however, I did mine on my Gypsy because I wanted to weld the base of the flowers to a rectangle for that section. The flowers used are from Sweet Treats, in addition to the ones that are welded to the light pink section, I cut two of the darker pink base ...

Wacky Wednesday Challenge, and another card.

Image
So this first card is my entry for the Wacky Wednesday #23 Color Challenge . We had to use pink, brown, and green. So I went with mint green, hot pink & brown. The butterfly is cut from the Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge at 3". I did trim part of the light green layer so that it was more design cohesive for me. I used Crystal Stickles in the mint green on the butterfly wings, brown heat set studs on the antennas, and my white gel pen by Sakura for some doodling. The background was embossed with the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folder and mounted on kraft cardstock. The sentiment stamp is from My Pink Stamper's Everyday Life set. This second card, is based on a sketch. It was shown with rectangles, but I really wanted to use one of the label cuts from Preserves, so I did, a lot. There's a total of 6 of them in varying colors & sizes, and all except the dark brown one were inked in light brown. Patterned paper is from DCWV, cardstock is from TPC, sentiment is from My Pi...

Licensed Cricut Cartridges

Image
Okay I have 5 of the licensed Cricut cartridges. Sesame Street Friends & Font, Hello Kitty Greetings & Font, & Hannah Montana. I love the Hannah cartridge, it's easy, and the fonts are super cute. I'm not sure how much I like the others yet. I just did 2 projects using Hello Kitty Font & Sesame Street Friends for the first time. I love how the finished projects look. They're super cute. I HATE putting the cuts together. The layering is seriously insane, why did I think I'd like these? lol. Oh, I don't recommend cutting Abby Cadabby as your first Sesame Street cut, pick something easier! I should've done Elmo, he's gotta be easier! I'm actually gonna cut him next! Anyways, here's the projects I did. Abby is cut at 6", and she is a shape card, Hello Kitty was cut at 3.75" and then stuck on a card. Have a great weekend! Happy Crafting! Brit

CC.com Chocolatier Jan. 2011 Project

Image
I'm on CropChocolate.com's Design Team, they call us "Chocolatiers". I like it, it's a fun & cute name. Our task for January was to create a project with the theme "Love" using product that CropChocolate.com sells. I used my Echo Park Paper Company's Be Mine Collection, here's what I came up with: Recipe: light grey cardstock for card base, 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" folded in half to make an A2 sized card Pink stripe pattern(Echo Park Be Mine Collection) cut at 4" by 5 1/4" Polka Dot pattern(Echo Park Be Mine Collection) cut at 2" by 4" *The stripes are centered on the light grey cardstock, the strip of polka dots, I placed about 1/4" up from the bottom edge of the striped paper. The Be Mine graphic is a cardstock sticker from the Be Mine Collection, as are the 2 tickets behind it. I mounted them on scrap cardstock & then completely trimmed them down. The ribbons are just scraps I had that I folded in half & ...

Night time fun

So super excited! I'm working on my January DT Challenge for CropChocolate.com & I'm having so much fun because I've busted out the pinks & pretty stuff. Okay, so really I finally opened up my "Be Mine" Collection from Echo Park Paper Co. I've had it for about a month now, but haven't had a project to use it on. Surprisingly enough, I didn't haul out my heat set rhinestones or studs, they've been my go-to bling for a while now, and I pulled out the Black Diamond Stickles instead. I'm actually waiting for said Stickles to dry so I can put everything together and get some pictures taken. I've decided that I am definitely a night scrapper. I seem to get my best ideas at night, although, part of that may be that since the kiddo is in bed, I can actually hear myself think! lol. Have a good night everyone, and as always, Happy Crafting! Crafting Mania!

Image
All is right in my crafting world. I finally got the replacement parts for my Making Memories Trimmer on Saturday, which means that it works great now! My first blade was faulty and wouldn't stay on track so it chewed up the plastic paper guide, and MM replaced both of them for free, so thanks to MM and a giant kudos to you! Then I went to Menard's(if you don't live in the north central part of the U.S., they are a home improvement store), and picked up Preserves & Simply Sweet for $9.98 each. Yay! I was really excited. I've been crafting a lot lately, I finally busted out my Basic Grey 6 x 6 paper pads last week and played with them a bunch. I've got Eva, Ambrosia, Offbeat, & Granola. The card in my last post is one of them, but here's a bunch more. Recipes underneath the pictures as always. Recipe: Basic Grey 6 x 6 Offbeat Paper Pad "thank you" stamp is Basic Grey from the Delta Limited Editions series Card size: 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" Rec...

Basic Grey Ambrosia Card

Image
Okay so I love this card. I think it's pretty. Though it caused injuries. See the pretty brown studs on the flourishes? They're metal, and I stuck my pinky on one checking to see if it was adhered and burnt my finger. I've got a blister that has all the details of the stud.

My Crafty Space

Image
Okay so here it is, my crafting space, if you want dimensions: the corner desk is 5' by 3', the other shelf is a repurposed tv stand, the new tv was too heavy for it since it's kinda old, lol. It measures about 18" wide and 4' long. From the kitchen(see second pic for that view) to the corner is about 12 feet. The space is about 8 feet wide, but I've only claimed about 3 feet of that for scrapbooking, lol, the rest is actually used as my dining room, though sometimes if I've got a big project going I use the dining room table too. All in all, it works pretty well, especially when you consider that I'm in an apartment. Okay, there's my pretty, or not so pretty, depending on the day, space. If you have any questions, just ask. I'll answer! I'm gonna go play with my stuff now! Happy Crafting! Brit

Blog Candy Winner!

Sorry this took so long guys! I've been re-organizing my scrap "room", and trying to weed through the 9 million toys that have taken over my apartment(okay so maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but it seems like that many). Do kids really need to get so many toys for Christmas & their birthdays, it doesn't help when they are only 2 weeks apart, lol! I seriously need to sell or get rid of a lot of the ones he's outgrown. Pretty sure there are still early toddler toys in my place and he's now 4! I'm thinking a garage sale this spring once it's nice again. I think I'm gonna post pictures of my scrap "room" when it's all organized in the next couple of days, you'll see what I mean by "room" when I post pictures, lol. Anyways, the reason you're checking in! The winner of the blog candy is Pandora from over at CropChocolate.com. Pandora, I'll pop over there and send you a message in just a bit! Have a fun crafty ...

MPS DT Call Challenge

Image
My Pink Stamper is having another DT call, and this one is a color challenge! We had to use pink, green, & brown. Here's my entry: The pocket is cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes & More, the flower is cut from Hello Kitty Greetings. You can't see them very well, but the rhinestones on the little flowers are AB clear rhinestones that shine pretty colors. :) I also used Crystal Stickles all around the pink edges of the flower and Lime Green Stickles all around the edges of the leaf. Patterned papers are by DCWV, Solid Cardstock is by The Paper Company, stamp is from My Pink Stamper. You can enter too if you go to www.mypinkstamper.com and get the details. You only have until Wednesday so check it out if you're interested. Happy Crafting! Brit
